Last Trip of 2005 is Done
I made my last trip for 2005 yesterday. I'm gone every month to locations like Los Angeles, CA, Sacramento, CA and Sioux Falls, SD.
Yesterday's trip was great fun. I took a trip to South Dakota Monday night with my friend Ken Levy http://blogs.msdn.com/klevy/
I asked Ken to visit a client of mine in Sioux Falls, SD to show off the new stuff in Visual FoxPro 9 and give them an idea of what's coming in Visual FoxPro 9. He did a great job presenting to my cilent and we had some real fun. A cool story is that when ken and I were flying to SD he mentioned another developer name Craig Boyd. Craig is a Visual FoxPro MVP and lived around 1 hour outside of Sioux Falls. I told ken “Hey I think he lives near Sioux Falls”. So on our layover Ken calls Craig and says wanna have breakfast tomorrow. Craig paused and said sure. But what the heck are you doing in Sioux Falls. Ken told him and we met at 6:30 am the next day.
I was impressed with Craig. We had some engaging conversation about VFP, .NET and other geep topix. I look forward to a longer meal with him on my next trip. Craig's blog is here... http://www.sweetpotatosoftware.com/SPSBlog/
PS... I think ken has the wrong job. Ken is a gadget hound and we geeked hard about headphones, IPODs, Bose Speakers and other hardward topics. Ken and my friend Dan have convinced me that IPODs are the way to go. Mr Jobs. You can send Ken and Dan a check now!
