AOL Really Likes Spam
I got an e-mail last week letting me know that my www.mailblocks.com account will be closed.
Mailblocks is a challenge and response system for e-mail. Basically this service really cuts down on the spam you receive because it requires senders to validate that they are a real person. This is something that spammers generally don't do.
Around a year ago this company was purchased by AOL and they stopped taking on new members. That's a strange business model.
And now come to find out they are shutting down a perfectly good service. Here's what they want us to do now.
Sign up for our new AIMMAIL service. Well I don't really want another e-mail acct especially with AOL. Every service they set up or take over turns to crap.
I was an ICQ user for quite a while. Problem with that service.. Spam.... How much spam do I get on MSN messenger 0.00% None.
