Bose... All Companies Should Be Like This

One company that I have dealt with over the last 4 year is Bose.

Bose is a company that makes audio products (surround sound systems, head phones, PC sound systems)

I got hooked on Bose when I bought a pair of Quiet Comfort I headphones. These are noise reduction headphones. Basically they eliminate background noise so you can actually hear  the sound from you MP3 Player, DVD Player, etc. This is very handy when I'm on a plane (100,000 miles a year). These baby's aren't cheap though. Around 300.00.

After this purchase I bought 2 surround systems for the house and a PC Sound system. I also bought a new pair of Quiet Comfort II headphones. This version addressed every issue I had with the Quiet Comfort I's....

So here's the best part... On a flight I managed to break my QC II head phones. Luckily I was headed to Minneapolis, MN and the Mall of America. There is a Bose store in the Mall of America. So I take my broken head phones to the counter and ask if there's any way I can fix them (a small plastic piece got snapped). The person at the counter took them into the back and brought out a new set of phones and gave them to me. No questions asked!!!!!!

So last week I'm in Seattle... I took my QC I phones to have a part changed out and they said: I could change the part out but what you could do is upgrade your QC I phones to the QC II phones for 100.00..... In a flash I whipped out my credit card and walked away a Bose customer for life. Could you imagine Sony or JVC offering a very reasonable upgrade price for trading in an old VCR, DVD Player ?

Bose rocks!!!!!

I agree, Bose is a VERY good company.

Everyone in my family chipped in and bought me the new Bose CD/Radio system for Christmas. It is the most incredible thing I've ever seen (and heard).

First thing I did with it was play the Miles Davis classic "Kind of Blue". I thought I knew every note to every track on that CD - but playing it on a Bose gave me an even bigger appreciation. I'm now using it to play CDs that I haven't played in years.

But what BLEW ME AWAY was the quality of the FM tuner. There's a local station that plays jazz in the evening, but the reception in my area has always been poor. The first time I listened to the station on my Bose, I swear I thought I was listening to a CD.

I think their superior products probably makes it easier for them to do the types of in-store things that you described. They know that once people start using their products, they'll usually be interested in staying with their products. Their products redefine quality, and they're worth every penny.

I've been in Bose stores in the Poconos and Philadelphia, and I found their sales people to be very knowledgeable about their products. My next purchase is a Bose headset, and it's nice to know that should anything happen, odds are good I might get the same treatment.

I love their equipment too Rod. My bedroom radio is an old WaveCD, my home theater has been a LifeStyle 30 for the longest time (only bad thing with it is that it's incompatible with any remote but its own), and for flying Cessnas I've been using the Bose Aviation Headset which was the FIRST with noise-cancellation. You want to really test that technology? Try it in the cockpit of a single engine plane.

I agree bose products are good, but overpriced. there is a reason they do not list the sound characteristics of any of their products, because of dead bands in the acoustimass speaker systems. The one major thing that Bose can do better is find better district managers....especially the chicago district manager. Steve Rook is an antisemetic red neck that should go back to texas or wherever he came from. go back to factory card outlet...you are not qualified to run the chicago distric of rdg. Bose is too good for you to ruin. Please go away....

I'm afraid Bose gets panned in every Audiofile site.

I am an audiophile, yet i Love Bose. Let me explain something about Bose and the opinion that a lot of "audiophiles" have with them.

Bose is like an underground band, when they weren't quite so well known, everyone that heard em, was in love with them. But, as soon as they broke into the mainstream and got big, those same people didn't like them anymore. For that reason alone. Bose has only gotten better since they got big. Just the trendy people that go for the "underground" stuff only. I am tellin ya, if Grado, AKG or even Sennheiser were as popular, not as many people would like them either. Point is, Bose rocks and they always will.

It would seem to me that mr.me is nothing more than a disgruntled ex-Bose employee who happens to wear a hearing aid. As far as the so-called audiophiles downplaying the technology of Bose is obviously one of those people who hasn't had pussy since it had him.... get a life dude, and a pair of Quiet Comfort 2s so you can't hear yourself talk you assaholic moron.

I know more about bose and their acoustic shortcomings then what I have shared. George, if you are such an audiophile, why do you bash me, let me know what the great advantage is to a 500 dollar cd player? you can even add a 3 disk changer for more money. what are the sound characteristics? Why does Bose hide this information? I agree to an untrained ear this equipment sounds nice, even outstanding, but compare it to similarly priced equipment it falls flat. The gizmos they have added are nice but do not justify the extra thousands of dollars, Bose used to be known for their simple operation and great sound. Now they just want to try to wow you with gadgets and toys. The only speaker I would buy with any lifestyle system is the Jewel cubes, they are very crisp and clear. have a higher range then acoustimass cubes, and are more inconspicuous. So george before you make personal attacks know the truth about what you are talking about, not just mouthing off.

by the way, the typical electronics markup is less then 75 percent over cost, bose's mark up on their lifestyle is over 300 percent, of course they can afford to exchange a few pairs of headphones. they are made in Mexico or china at a much lower cost, because of the labor costs in those countries.

I currently live in a small room with an onkyo home theatre system in it. Although it sounds great, I have become very claustrophobic. This is why I moved to the Bose Lifestyle 35 Series II and have liked it ever since. The Jewel cubes are worth the extra money, and I will probably be a bose consumer for life. Here's what I don't understand. Many complain that Bose costs too much, although it's a little pricey consider this... You're paying for brand new technology, BRAND NAME (How would Rolex survive?) and one sweet system. I am only 16 and I was able to buy one by selling candy at school and selling things on ebay. I don't even have a job! You people that complain about Bose's "high prices" are just sad.

BOSE ROCKS! 'nuff said.

Having flown all sorts of planes for thirty plus years I've had the pleasure and displeasure to use many headsets. While the David Clark line is probably the most robust the Bose Aviation X is hands down the best at doing it's job. Light, comfortable with great noise cancelling performance. Had I worn the Bose Aviation X when driving those old Beavers with a wonderful but noisy engine I would probably hear better today.
