A colleague recently sent me a copy of an article on SharePoint Data Recovery ("Deep dive into SharePoint data recovery: HOT SPOTS" by Lauren Whitehouse). It’s a great read for anyone concerned about maintaining SharePoint uptime and what you need to think about.
Lauren notes that “research finds that 36% of SharePoint users believe their backup processes don't provide an adequate level of protection. And 36% say a SharePoint downtime of 60 minutes or less would have an adverse affect on their business”
I have often stated that Disaster Recovery (DR) is something that you should have a solid plan around before the installation DVD comes out of the tray. This article confirms that notion. Read it here.
