x1 Search tool updated

x1, the desktop search engine I've posted about a number of times, has just had a major update. Already one of the fastest and most unique search engines available for your PC, x1 now has two critical features added. You can now search on multiple word strings (x1 was formerly limited to a single word search) and you can save searches. Both are welcome additions. I've already saved a dozen searches I regularly conduct in my contacts list and file system.

Here is the complete list of features added in this latest release:

  • The ability to perform phrase searches
  • Boolean search capabilities
  • The option to save frequently used searches for future use
  • Full support for attachments in Outlook Express and Netscape Mail
  • Increased maximum individual file size for content indexing from 10MB to 2GB

A complete list of improvements and new features can be found online at www.x1.com. Until September 15, you can purchase x1 for $74.95. After that date, the price will return to $99.00. A 15-day trial is available.
