GTD in Excel
While scaning the RSS feed from the Getting Things Done Forum this morning, I found a reference to a template for managing your GTD workflow in Excel. There are a number of individuals in the forum who use this approach and e-Dashboard looks like an interesting way to get a jump start.
There has not been a lot of development on this tool in some time and, according to the discussion group, the author is currently working on an Outlook-KeySuite-Palm OS implementation of this same idea.
I'll look into the documentation and Excel template and update this post over the weekend after I've had a chance to see how it all works. If you're a heavy Excel user and have been looking for a way to use that app to manage your lists and projects, you may want to take a look right now.
UPDATE: Scary. I think you have to be an Excel guru to want to use this tool. While it does have a lot of thought put into it, the interface is very initmidating and complex. Also, recent versions of Excel will toss up all sorts of macro warning messages at you when you attempt to run the template. I'll keep an eye out for the forthcoming Outlook-Palm tool and see if it looks easier to use.
