Omar's rockin' add-in for Outlook and OneNote integration

Omar Shahine is working on a totally cool add-in for Outlook that offers the knd of integration with OneNote I've been dreaming about. It's still in development but I'll be watching this closely. You go, Omar, and sign me up for the beta test!

OneNote Powertoy: Outlook2OneNote

OneNote Powertoy: Outlook2OneNote
As I've blogged about a few times, I'm working on an add-in for Outlook. Chris Pratley broke the news, and this is one of two PowerToys that I'm working on (the other is RSS2OneNote).
Below is a screen shot of the Outlook add-in:

Outlook2OneNote requires SP1 of OneNote and allows you to do the following things:

  • Copy an e-mail, post or note from Outlook to a specified OneNote section.

  • Optionally delete said item

  • Optionally mark said item read

  • Navigate to that item later on (say you copy the item to OneNote but keep the original in Outlook, you can easily get back to it).

  • Create a New Side Note

  • Open OneNote

There are some other things in there, like a configurable MRU of recently accessed sections, and some preferences. You can also specify whether or not OneNote comes to the foreground etc.
