Who is this guy anyway?

Greetings.

I thought a brief introduction might be in order as I gleefully join the OfficeZealot.com blogging group. And perhaps a confession as well.

You see, I'm a productivity freak. And an inveterate software addict. I love playing with new software - I've been doing it for many years and I still get a big thrill every time I find a cool new tool that helps me do a little bit more with a little bit less effort.

I'm also a Storyteller. Seriously. It says so right on my business card.

OK, what I really do is manage the marketing, PR, and web communications for a great software company located in the desert Southwest. But those job roles are all about telling stories. And, if you know about the Southwest Pueblo Indians, you see the symmetry - storytellers are an important part of their culture.

What I hope to add to the OZ conversation is a power user perspective on Office productivity. I will not be spending much time showing you XML code (or even VBA scripts). Instead, I plan to focus on Getting Things Done (with all due credit and copyright acknowledgements to productivity guru David Allen - author of the book of the same name).

I spend much of my day living in Outlook and OneNote and this will be my primary focus. I'll show you great tips, tricks, and techniques to get more out of these two apps. I'll also tell you about great add-ins for OUtlook that extend its capabilities.

Of course, I reserve the right to toss in a pithy quote, make random observations, and link to other bloggers with something provocative to say.

Thanks for taking a look.
