Silverlight 1.1 now called Silverlight 2.0

Silverlight 1.1 is no more ... Microsoft decided when looking at the new Silverlight software that a minor version upgrade would not show the value of the product. So, from now on the next version of Silverlight will be referred to as being Silverlight 2.0. No more minor improvements, Silverlight 2.0 will show big changes compared to 1.0.

Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 available

Eric Carter kinda announced it ... Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 is available as of today. He didn't get into the details on where to go and get it, so I did some searching myself. It's easy to discover where it is if you just go to the Microsoft Downloads and search for Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2:

Microsoft Silverlight TAFKA WPF/E

Microsoft announced "Microsoft Silverlight", The Application Formerly Known As WPF/E. It's the Windows Presentation Foundation to be available everywhere and on all platforms, somewhat similar to what the Flash thingy stands for.
