Tools that I use – Axialis IconWorkshop
High on my ‘to do’ list is making a list of tools and applications that I use all the time to either develop my applications or to be more productive on the computer(s) that I use for both personal use or work. Is there a differentiation between both? I really can’t tell … how bad is that?
My personal reason for making such a list is that I always have to go out and search for the tools over and over again when I re-image my machine. Over time I plan to get a complete list with all the tools that I use every day.
Never found the time to do that, but today one of the tools that I use a lot and always recommend to anyone who is looking for a tool to create good and fresh looking set of icons is on sale (50% off) for Black Friday!
Black Friday is (for non US readers) the day after Thanksgiving Day in the United States, one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
With IconWorkshop you can create a set of icons by either drawing the icons yourself or using the templates that are already in the product. You are able to create Vista style (or Mac for that matter if you are into that) in no time and give your apps a new look.
Another benefit is that it can be plugged in into your Visual Studio IDE and you have it available while you are working on your projects.
Instead of discussing the tool in depth I’d recommend that you go out and try it with one of the tryout versions but you might miss the 50% off opportunity as the Black Friday offer is only valid for today. And oh, the discount goes for all products on the site, not only for the IconWorkshop .
So, to wrap up … this is my first tool on the “Tools that I use” list. Many more to come and I hope this list will be useful for everyone who reads this. If you have tools or apps that you use –all the time– let me know too!
