Create the Virtual Machine

With Virtual PC 2007 from your menu you start the New Virtual Machine Wizard.

Select the option: Create a virtual machine.

Enter the name and location for the new Virtual Machine.

Select the operating System: Windows Server 2003.

Adjust the amount of RAM you want to allocate for this virtual machine. Set the RAM for this virtual machine to half the amount of RAM available on the host machine.

To create a new virtual hard disk, select the option:

A new virtual hard disk.

Enter the name and location where you want the new virtual hard disk to reside. Also specify the size of the virtual hard disk. I used the default value for this.

Click the Finish button to complete the New Virtual Machine Wizard.

Adjust the Virtual Machine Settings

Next thing to do is to check some of the VPC settings:

-         Memory (already set in the New VM Wizard)
-         Networking

Memory guideline:
Select about half the amount of memory available in the physical computer.

Networking:
With the Adapter 1 list box, select the network adapter that resides in your physical computer.
