Preparing SharePoint Server 2007 Workflow Demo Environment - Intro
The last weeks I have been very busy (besides my professional activities in my daily job) preparing an environment to do a demo on Workflow. The goal of the demo will be to show the improvements to be expected when using VSTO "Orcas" compared to how you build your workflows today using Visual Studio 2005.
Just to build an environment that will do the job right is a hell of a job and is really a lot of work to do. I can imagine this is a big issue to people who try to research the topics where they should or want go with their company.
With this said you can say that developing great scenarios is more and more something to be done by real software experts. In early days anyone with a little more knowledge on computers than the average guy could build solutions that really improved the business logic. Today if you really want to build solutions using the tools that are available today you have to get the experts in the house.
To prepare this demo environment I did a lot of research, testing and in some areas I think there are improvements to make to get this right.
As a reminder to myself I will try to maintain a list of steps, and maybe someone else can use it when they have to do something similar.
I'm happy to get some feedback from all you guys who did the same thing and feel that I missed some steps in the process!
