As planned, today I contacted HP about the software that would make it possible to use my 7410 All in One Scanner again with Vista. But as I expected they just don't have it available. Only a stupid remark on their support website that you can connect the printer using the USB connector and use Vistas default functionality to do you work.

Hey! My printer is -networked- !! You can use the 7410 wireless if you want! (I believe the wired option is still providing a better uptime so I did go for the wired ethernet option)

My guess is that HP is gambling on the option where people will just buy themselves a new machine instead. Guess what... my new machine may basically be NO HP if this is how service is provided.
