Joining the merry ol' land of OZ

Charles left some huge shoes to fill when he left the merry ol’ land of OZ for a position with Microsoft - so big it will probably take a few of us to fill ‘em. When I heard that Charles was signing on with MSFT, I immediately approached Chris to see if he had any interest in joining forces (again).

You see, prior to Charles’ departure I had been in regular contact with Charles and Chris as a friend and former Micro Modeling Associates colleague. Back in the MMA days, Chris, Charles, and I formed the nucleus of a highly effective team focused on Office solutions in the Minneapolis office. As much as I enjoyed the chemistry of the team, I was seeking more out of my career and decided to start my own consulting firm. Since then, I’ve regularly sought out ways to work closely with Charles and Chris again. In October this year Chris and I formally joined forces.

The immediate question many people have is what does this mean for OfficeZealot.com? The primary way this affects OfficeZealot.com is that there will be more capacity to drive OfficeZealot.com forward. The site will now have a team of eight behind it rather than two. That said however, we’re not planning any near term revolutionary type changes. Instead, you’ll notice more of an evolutionary approach over the short term. The bottom line is that OfficeZealot.com has always catered to the Office developer community and will continue to do so. Along those lines, I’d love to hear about some of the things you’d like to see on OfficeZealot.com. How can we best serve you? Drop me a line at shansen@OfficeZealot.com.

Steve,

Passing the OZ baton to you and your team is a great move for the Office Dev community. Always a firm believer in the value of the desktop, you now can hopefully take our little soapbox of Office Zealot to new heights! Best of luck and remember.... I am still an Office Zealot, it's just that I have a day job now ;)

Best wishes and congrats!
Charles
