I Caught You a Delicious Bass Buzz Bruggeman
Yesterday I had lunch with Buzz Bruggeman to discuss ActiveWords, Tablet PC’s, GTD and life as a whole. Buzz is high octaine, full of interesting tidbits and knows basically everyone. ActiveWords is one of those products you have to use to really appreciate, its hard to describe in words.
I like to look at ActiveWords as a global macro engine. If you have ever written script or vba, it often runs in a specific context. ActiveWords works in any program and sets above windows. Recently they put out a beta of an updated Tablet PC Agent for ActiveWords. The agent appears as a little icon in your task bar or you can dock it anywhere you like. Then when you hover your stylus above it, the following window appears:

You then ink in your ActiveWord command and presto, it fires off. I use a slate version of the tablet pc, which means it has no keyboard. While I can get around in almost every app, there are few things where typing is useful. For example logging into various websites and servers. With ActiveWords I can script all my logins. When I’m prompted for a login I then use the InkPad (as shown above) to have my password automagically inserted.
Buzz tells me that there are many cool changes on the way for this little agent. If you are already running the agent, you should periodically check for updates, as they do put up new builds of the beta occcasionally.
