New Toolkit for Research Services Development

I’m excited to report about several exciting developments regarding research services development. If you don’t already know it, research services are one of my favorite Office 2003 developer technologies. That is why we sponsor a Research Services Zone on OfficeZealot.com, a great resource to get connected with the research services community.

This week the MSDN Office Developer Center launched a Research Services Portal (clearly an attempt to imitate the innovation at OfficeZealot :-). You’ll find pointer to toolkits, white papers, and articles related to research services.

Also this week a new toolkit is being released called the Research Service Development Extras. John Durant blogged about the toolkit a few weeks ago.

The one thing that is cool about this toolkit, is that Microsoft is making the source code available on a GotDotNet.com workspace. This will help make sure the code in the toolkit can continue to live on and be extended by the community.
