Beautiful people use Microsoft Office, or do they?
Yesterday I received the Microsoft Office Insider newsletter in my in box. This is a useful regular letter with pointers to new and interesting resources related to Microsoft Office. One thing I noticed though is that they always have these pictures great looking people using Microsoft Office.

Now on one hand, it makes me think that being an Office guru is a good thing. However, I know better. Behind this is an impressive marketing machine creating an image of the intelligent and good looking Office user.
However, wouldn't it be nice if they showed pictures of real users? For example, when I woke up and turned on my computer yesterday morning I started reading my e-mail and came across this newsletter. I read it for a while, looked at some of the links it contained. But I had not got ready for the day, I just started using Office. I hadn't showered, brushed my teeth, combed my hair and put my contacts in. And yet I was using Office. So here is what a real office user looks like:

After comparing these two photos, I agree with Microsoft's policy of using beautiful people. I'm afraid the image of real users might scare new users away :-).
