Final Day at TechED
Today I head home after a long and exciting week. Yesterday I gave my Research Service presentation and it was well received by attendees. To my surprise, most had never seen Research services before and I had to explain some of the overall concepts and possibilities. The nice thing that happened is that many people came up after saying that they could use this technology and were going to go home and start building one for their company. This was a nice result of the session. I've posted my session slides for those who are interested.
Yesterday we showed for the first time a new toolkit called the Research Services Development Extras. It should be available in a week or two for download from MSDN. On a related note, check out a new feature on OZ, the Research Services Zone. The zone will keep you updated on Research Service related news and also provide useful guidance. As for the toolkit, we will keep you updated on its release and we also plan to provide video training for the toolkit right here on OZ.
I had dinner with Andrew Whitechapel last night at a nice Thai Restaurant. Andrew is a very interesting technologist with a long history in the industry. I found his insights on Office development to be very forward thinking. I'd highly recommend keeping an eye on his blog for useful information. On another note, he lost a little credibility when he ordered a peach smoothie :-).
I want to say a quick thank you to all the loyal OfficeZealot readers out there who made it a point to visit with us at the conference and for the support for our little web site.
Over the next few weeks, we will be bringing online a number of new content zones that should interest you. More details to come ....
I'd like to extend a general invitation for you to send us feedback about how we can improve OfficeZealot.com. Also if your interested in blogging on Office, we would be happy to provide you with a free blog for that purpose. You can send me an email at: nospam.chris@officezealot.com.nospam (remove the nospam).
