ActiveWords Helps Me Manage the Complexity

If you're like me, you like tools that improve your productivity. Every day I use several applications and utilities that help me get my job done faster and with improve accuracy. All these tools though have lead to a problem of navigation bloat. My START menu has about 150 applications.

I don?t use all these application every day, but over a given period of time I do use them all for the various types of projects I work on. In a given period of time, I may be managing 2 to 3 project and working on 1 to 2 others. As I said earlier, I?m a firm believer in using tools to get the job done quicker. Some of the tools are related to making using windows easier, others are applications (like Office), project management, design tools, development tools, server management tools, etc.

So as I move from project to project I have to shutdown all my running tools and then go and load a set of different tools for a different project.

ActiveWords to the rescue
I finally wised up and decided to start configuring ActiveWords to help me get the job done easier. I reviewed ActiveWords a while back, please read my review for more info:

ActiveWords supports a scripting environment that allows you to automate your desktop and other applications with a fair amount of ease. For example, for one project I like to open to the project folder, open visual source safe, and open the visual studio.net project file. I assign this script to the command ?p1?. By typing p1, ActiveWords launches all the programs and my desktop is ready to go. When I?m ready to move onto a second project, I type p2 and all the tools I need for that project are loaded and the tools are configured by ActiveWords for that specific project.

This saves me a lot of time and allows me to move between projects quickly.

I've been telling my friends they have to use this program, but many are reluctant because they don't fully get it. Try it! Go to www.ActiveWords.com and download the free 60-day trial.

If you buy, tell them Chris sent ya!
