Microsoft Office Specialist Competition

I love it when someone gives me a weird look because of what I do for work. The conversation usually goes this way.

Person: Chris, what do you do for work?

Chris: I specialize in enterprise use of Microsoft Office

    Person: Huh?

Yes it does seem a bit different that someone makes a living working on a product designed for users (Lawyers, Doctors, Secretaries, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, enginners, professionals, bankers, etc). This gets at the main reason Charles and I are in Office. Office is about the user and it's rewarding work to see users increase their productivity firsthand.

Along those lines I just tripped across an interesting site www.officecompetition.com that highlights a contest where students with the best Microsoft Word and Excel skills have a chance to compete.

I like the idea of recognizing users for their contribution to improving the Office community. Now if I could just get convince my mother to enter the competition ;-)
