A (long awaited!) Office Developer Conference from Microsoft
Nice to see MS putting the marketing muscle behind the Office System as a solutions development platform. This event, written up on CNet (“Microsoft Office developers get own venue“) features Bill Gates himself as one of the keynote speakers. I would think Bill's attention here and the conference itself signifies that MS has raised the focus internally and externally that Office extensibility is important. Scheduled for February 2nd – 4th 2005 on campus in Redmond, MS is calling it the “the first annual Microsoft Office System Developer Conference” - clearly a name that implies there will be more... (right?) Priced at $300, the three day event appears to be by “invitation only”. Not sure what you have to do to get invited but I imagine that's because space on campus is limited and they are promising close access to PM's and other Office team members.
