Microsoft to share Office 2003 source world governments
Microsoft reported yesterday that it going to share the source code of Office 2003 with several governments as a part of its Government Security Program (GSP) (see the official press release). One of the main reasons is to allow these authorities to inspect the code for security flaws which sounds great. Imagine a broader, more in depth beta/code review program. I have to wonder though how well these government agencies can traverse the millions and millions of lines of Office code and find flaws that MS can't? Well guys... have fun :-/
