Wrapping Office up nicely
Sitting here at Tech*Ed during Chris' talk, and besides the fact that his session is at the very top end of the huge San Diego convention center and scheduled right before everyone runs to the Sea World party, his talk on Office Research Services is going quite well.
He just announced the Research Services Development Extras for Microsoft Office which I will let him point you to -- it's his thunder afterall! It is a must-have toolkit if you are interested in writing Office Research Services and want a easy, cleaner way to do it.
Seems like it was a day for Office programming wrappers because besides Chris' Research Services Development Extras, Susan Warren of Vertigo Software had a session just before this one where she launched Vertigo's Managed Smart Documents Wrapper that simplifies Smart Document development with a new, object-oriented, declarative programming model. This also looks really cool and makes Smart Documents a hell of a lot more approachable.
Kudos to Chris, Susan and their respective teams for easing Office development for all...
