I'm back - Office Zealot in Asia
Ok ok ok... I?m back. I know I have been away for a while from blogging, but that?s because I was on a tour of Asia with Microsoft. To be specific, I was speaking at the Microsoft Asia Partner Solution Airlift event in some fun cities such as Singapore, Sydney, and Hong Kong. Now before you start questioning why wasn?t I just blogging from there then? Don?t they have the Internet there? Of course they do, just that if you were a non-Asian in Asia, would you be sitting in your hotel room blogging? Let?s hope not...
Acting as an ambassador of Office, it was nice to meet folks over there who do what we do here ? use Microsoft Office in solutions. Yes, I do believe they have Office Zealots there too! For the most part, it was a really great trip but one thing was kind of a disappointment and that is many of the folks I worked with were not on Office 2003 yet. Not that this should surprise me because it is still fairly early in the product cycle and it is a similar situation in other parts of the world as well. But the folks I talked to are tech industry leaders in Asia and they weren?t overly aware of the benefits of Office 2003 in terms of solutions. Seems like all of us Zealots and Microsoft alike still haven?t got the message far and wide.
Office 2003 is the best version ever for solution developers ? period. And more good news is on the way... the product I have been working with Microsoft on is about to remove its NDA wraps at Tech*Ed San Diego in a couple of weeks. It is another example of how Office can be a perfect fit for better enterprise solutions. So meet me in Tech*Ed and/or stay tuned to my blog to hear more about this new technology.
