OWC: Where are they now?
I think one of those look-back shows like "Behind the Music" or "Where are they now?" should be applied to the Office Web Components. What a great idea that got totally forgotten about...
Whether it was because of the licensing or the complexity or a strange subtle combination of both, I miss them. Oh... I know they are still around but they have really slipped out of sight. I just hooked up an OWC chart in a Win Form using C#... so nice and easy; pretty too! But damn if the security, licensing and install issues didn't make it an unrealistic undertaking. Too bad... but great for prototypes.
