Last week I undertook one day of K2 blackpearl training (was supposed to be two but I was throwing up horribly on the first day!).

Anyway, I was mightily impressed with what is possible with blackpearl it is a fine product and I look forward to working with it greatly.  I particularly like the idea of smart objects which allows you to package up functionality which you can call into to integrate with other systems etc... repeatedly in any of your workflows.  Pretty much anything can be dynamically calculated through code or functions. Any workflow can be deployed to any system through the use of environments so that urls etc... are dependent on the destination system.

Blackpearl integrates very nicely with Visual Studio and makes use of all that power that is available.  The design surface for blackpearl is very easy to use.  It is also possible to use the power of blackpearl to generate standard MOSS workflows.

One of the best benefits is that you can design and deploy a workflow much much faster using blackpearl than you could ever do with MOSS Workflow.  Also, blackpearl can design process workflows as opposed to the MOSS Workflow document centric style as well as obviously being more than capable of document centric workflows.

All in all, I think blackpearl is a fab product and cannot wait for my first project with it.
